The activities of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week have started in Karbala with the participation of more than 100 universities from both countries.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, emphasized in his speech during the opening ceremony—attended by representatives of the Parliamentary Education Committee, the Governor of Karbala, the President of the Karbala Governorate Council, university presidents, general directors, and cultural advisors—that the second edition of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week will move forward into practical implementation. This includes the exchange of scientists, professors, and researchers; the execution of research and technological projects; cultural exchange programs; scholarships; the organization of specialized workshops; the promotion of technical and professional cooperation; and the establishment of joint science and technology parks.

He explained that the Iraqi government and its developmental institutions, especially the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, have achieved positive indicators in the area of educational internationalization and sustainable development, These efforts have positioned Iraq prominently in international rankings, driven by a strong focus on scientific research and a notable increase in the growth index of global publications. Additionally, he highlighted that the quality of education in Iraqi universities has secured international accreditation, enhancing the credibility of academic programs and the awarded degrees to a high level of scientific excellence.
